Final Project Proposal

                For my final project I intend to photograph my boyfriend before and after his ACL surgery as well as his recovery process. I have already been photographing the beginning of this process when he first injured his knee. I captured right after it happened and some moments of him on the field an hour after the incident. I plan to photograph him the morning of the surgery as well as right before he goes into the surgery. I would also love to be able to photograph during surgery but I do not think that would be happening. I am going to photograph him after the surgery as well as his recovery process with pictures like him in physical therapy and stretches at home and maybe just him kind of reminiscing on the fact that he isn’t going to be able to do football for a while.
                I want to photograph him and this process because it is something that means a lot to me and him as well as others because this is part of his future, he wants to be able to continue playing college football and hopefully someday go farther with football. I will be able to revisit him within the next few weeks to see how his recovery process goes and to photograph him in these situations.
                 Hopefully other viewers will care and connect to these photos by having some type of other relationship to it, such as maybe also been through other surgeries or recovery or has seen someone go through these types of recoveries. Viewers may also see the side where football can be very dangerous and labor intensive if they don’t already realize that. This is his second surgery this year because of football injuries and they take half a year to somewhat recover from them so maybe the viewers could connect in the simple way that even just when watching football and seeing a player go down might mean they need a recovery process that takes months.
                Some challenges for me might be that he could be grumpy or down certain days and not want me to photograph although I don’t see that happening too much. Another challenge might be that the nurses and doctors may not want me photographing in their facility, but hopefully worst case I can sneak some photos when they’re not in the room.

Leamy: Final Project Proposal Revisited

Final Proposal              For my final project, I intend on following a similar vein from my style project and photographing homes that have a sense of personality and uniqueness to them, specifically in State College, Philadelphia, Downingtown, and West Chester. I want to photograph this subject because I personally find homes very appealing and I think they have extreme potential to tell a story to a viewer that perhaps would have been unexplored otherwise. Furthermore, I want to address the discrepancies present among different towns and their houses (State College versus living spaces in Philadelphia versus another suburban areas of Downingtown and West Chester). Garrett Curfman revised proposal

Garrett Curfman Final project proposal Photo 202 For my final project I have decided to take photos of city atmospheres. This includes the backsides of building, and items that reflect a “backstage” view of the atmosphere. I chose to do this because I love cities. New York City is my favorite place. Myself alone in the maze of concrete buildings and seeing all the unique aspects of the city get me inspired to create. There is so much personality and stories to be told by the streets and buildings that I pass every day in downtown State college.  I have photographed buildings, streets, alleys, and different items found in the city environment that further reflect where the photos are taken.
