Bailey K. Baier

For my final photography project, I intend to photograph doors. Doors in photographs can evoke a narrative from the viewer, telling a story about the history, location and culture of a place. Photographing this subject invites the viewer to explore a world created by our imagination  beyond those doors. Doors can be found in abundance, so revisiting this subject should not be very difficult. The viewer of my photographs would care to spend time on them because these photos will tell a story. The viewer will be drawn in and want to know more about what is behind the doors, where it is located, and the history of the door. Every door in my photographs will act as a character to the viewer. Some obstacles that I expect to come across are achieving adequate symmetry in my photos and framing my images in a way that displays why the viewer would find the door interesting, whether it be the door itself or including more architectural elements to provide context.

Leamy: Final Project Proposal Revisited

Final Proposal              For my final project, I intend on following a similar vein from my style project and photographing homes that have a sense of personality and uniqueness to them, specifically in State College, Philadelphia, Downingtown, and West Chester. I want to photograph this subject because I personally find homes very appealing and I think they have extreme potential to tell a story to a viewer that perhaps would have been unexplored otherwise. Furthermore, I want to address the discrepancies present among different towns and their houses (State College versus living spaces in Philadelphia versus another suburban areas of Downingtown and West Chester). Garrett Curfman revised proposal

Garrett Curfman Final project proposal Photo 202 For my final project I have decided to take photos of city atmospheres. This includes the backsides of building, and items that reflect a “backstage” view of the atmosphere. I chose to do this because I love cities. New York City is my favorite place. Myself alone in the maze of concrete buildings and seeing all the unique aspects of the city get me inspired to create. There is so much personality and stories to be told by the streets and buildings that I pass every day in downtown State college.  I have photographed buildings, streets, alleys, and different items found in the city environment that further reflect where the photos are taken.
